Dear 2nd Grade Families,
I hope you are having an enjoyable and relaxing summer. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Kayleigh Morse and I am delighted to be your second grade teacher for the upcoming school year. This will be my first year teaching at McDowell Elementary and I am so excited to be here. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you and your child in reaching their full potential. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow together in the school year ahead. Let me tell you a little about myself, I was born and raised in Aliso Viejo California. I attended San Diego State University where I obtained my BA in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) with a specialization in History. During this time I worked at a local children’s center where my passion for education and teaching flourished. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from University of California, Irvine. I’ve worked in first, second, and fifth grade classrooms where I differentiated instruction for the wide variety of needs while facilitating a positive, fun, and safe learning environment.
During the summer I worked for UCI’s Summer Institute as a 5th/6th grade combo teacher. Besides working with young scholars I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and traveling. I have been very fortunate and have had the opportunity to travel to Italy, England, France, Germany, French Polynesia and most of the United States. I also enjoy being active and adventurous by hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing, zip lining, and taking fun classes at the gym. I look forward to the adventures and experiences I will have working with your children this year! I believe that every student brings a backpack full of knowledge to school every day and we all can learn so much from one another. I look forward to getting to know every one of you!
